YOUR STAFF DENSITY IS VERY CRITICAL.

Staff Density is defined as THE NUMBER AND QUALITY OF PEOPLE YOU HAVE IN YOUR EMPLOYMENT; BOTH FULL TIME AND PART TIME. Provided you are paying these people MONTHLY WAGES, they constitute your staff density. One of the MOST EFFICIENT decisions we made at SOBCA/BSG is to keep our density LOW. We have ALWAYS had a VERY LEAN team. Few staff who do a lot and we get the results. According to Reed Hastings (CEO, Netflix), the larger your team gets, the harder it becomes to keep a water-tight culture.

Now we understand that some sectors cannot necessarily keep a lean team. Sectors like manufacturing, food, and schools, etc. That can be true… however, look at it this way:

  1. At the MANAGEMENT level in your system, HIRE AN INDUSTRY SUPERIOR. Quote me anywhere on this ‘the growth of any business is 100% dependent on the QUALITY OF MANAGEMENT of that business’. I see Founders and CEO trying to do everything by themselves instead of getting the BEST POSSIBLE PEOPLE to offload their burdens to. Intentionally hire TOP GUYS, intentionally plan to PAY THEM ABOVE INDUSTRY STANDARDS and see what they will do.
  2. When you hire them, LET THEM DO WHAT YOU HAVE HIRED THEM TO DO. There is nothing more frustrating than doing the job of the person you have hired to do it. That is MULTIPLE EXPENSES. If you trust the capacity of your employee, let them do what you are paying them to do. If they cannot do what you are paying them to do, LOOK FOR ANOTHER PERSON THAT CAN DO WHAT YOU WILL PAY FOR THEM TO DO. Simple!!! There are no sentiments in this. If you follow my businesses properly, you will notice that I LET PEOPLE GO WHEN THEY HAVE PROVEN TO BE A LAG THAN A JET.
  3. Test yourself thus: if you feel you are TOO BUSY DOING YOUR DAY-TO-DAY BUSINESS, then you have a WRONG MANAGEMENT TEAM. The proof of a good management team is that THE FOUNDER HAS SOME LIBERTY OF TIME TO GET OTHER THINGS DONE; especially NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES. So if you are UNABLE to do new things, it is either YOU ARE AN INSECURE FOUNDER or YOU HAVE HIRED AN INCOMPETENT MANAGEMENT (that is if you even have one). 🙄

Fix up!!!
