Build a School that Everyone Wants to Work In

I was in Lagos some months ago and I spared some time to visit some topnotch schools there. These are schools I have observed from a distance with admiration. I won’t mention the names of the schools but I will explain what transpired in some.

I was in Lagos some months ago and I spared some time to visit some topnotch schools there. These are schools I have observed from a distance with admiration. I won’t mention the names of the schools but I will explain what transpired in some.

School A: founded in the 60s. Operates campuses on Lagos mainland and island. The staff feel like ‘one family’. In fact, I ‘informally’ engaged some staff, from security men to cleaners to some untitled staff; these people are SO LOYAL to the school. The way they talk about their Founders and the system is ADDICTIVE!!! I can imagine what the Management does to make this happen.

School B: founded in the 90s. Operates campuses on Lagos Mainland and Lekki axis. The structures are so cozy. The staff LOVE the school but they also have some CRITICAL EXPECTATIONS that they feel the school is not meeting. I asked ‘is this expectation sufficient enough for you to leave the school?’ The answer? “UNLESS THEY SACK ME, I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE”. WoW!!!!!!!

This is a MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH for any owner of a school. If you are a Founder of a school reading this, YOU WANT TO REPLICATE THIS BREAKTHROUGH!!!

At SRC, for instance, we have a staff retention of around 95%. Most of our staff have stayed for UPWARDS OF A DECADE. We are an organization that PEOPLE ALWAYS DESIRE TO WORK IN!

This can be your own experience too.. do you want to replicate this?
