I ALMOST LOST $5,000 LAST WEEK

Omo… it was almost heartbreaking 💔. So, SOBCA is expanding her 20-seater training room to a 40-seater training room, with additional aesthetics, and I decided to invest some money into SOBCA Training Suite for a 10% GROSS ROI by 2025. I went into a digital portfolio to liquidate just $5,000 from the sum for the investment and my digital purse locked out!!! 🔒 🔐

Why? I had misplaced an authentication code. I became frantic and agitated. I sent emails, in-app customer service requests, tweets, etc. NO RESPONSE. Then today, gloriously, I got responses and the authentication was resolved.

So here I am, sitting and reviewing my thoughts… I am like:

1.) Documentation is PRICELESS!!! Anytime you spend a PENNY (KOBO, CENT), write it somewhere for referencing and reconciliation.

2.) The first place to go to when you have a capital expenditure is YOUR OWN INVESTMENT (or SAVINGS). This was exactly what happened with the DISRUPTIVE MARKETING STRATEGY CLINIC – RESIDENTIAL. We had paid ONE MILLION NAIRA AHEAD of the event to secure all rooms, the hall and the food… the difference was removed after all delegates had paid. If we waited for delegates to pay, we will miss the reservations because this weekend alone, other big clients were there including ECOWAS, FULL GOSPEL BUSINESS MEN, WHO, et al. This is the same philosophy that guides our BSG Summit annually.

3.) Diversify your investments. Even though I could have lost all my money in this particular portfolio due to my negligence, I had other alternatives to draw from so it would not be a total loss of investment opportunity. For instance, my legendary Fidelity Bank account is my cash investment dump for the rainy day. This is strictly for capital projects, academic schools fees for myself and my children, etc. This goes to say – invest in several formats: cash, digital assets, landed assets, etc.
