When one experiences grief, there is the tendency to succumb to deep anguish and distress or suffering. The pain eats deep and becomes a familiar cloak that tends to be a form of comfort.
What if you can use this same grief and create productive results? What if instead of grief to cripple, it empowers?
In my experience with grief and also interacting with others going through grief, some things stood out and are a constant; especially for those who have made something beautiful from their pain:
Listen to your body, your mind and your emotions. This will guide you to know when to push with all your strength and make those tough business decisions and when to rest and take breaks. Listening to your body will help you avoid making rash or emotional business decisions that can cost you a lot.
Find a positive channel to push out all those pent up energies by creating a service or product that meets the needs of others. When you shift focus from you to helping others, you will have less time to dwell or wallow in grief. Giving back is a sure therapy to healing and productivity.
Where you are in life right now is where you truly are but it’s not where you will or should always be.
Experiencing grief opens our minds to wider possibilities and makes us more daring. Use that to your advantage! Close that deal. Place that call. Bid for that contract. Apply for that grant….. After all,the worst that can happen is a rejection, right? A NO!! And that’s okay because you have faced worst and you are still here.
In conclusion, DARE to rebuild life even while going through grief and watch your business and life take new positive dimensions.
