HOW YOU MAY LOSE WITH TECHNOLOGY.

Technology is definitely here to stay. It is not likely that it will ever slow down. Artificial Intelligence, Cryptography, Human powered chip implants, etc. TECHNOLOGY IS THE FUTURE. More organizations will adopt technology in virtually every arm of their businesses. There are potentials that robots will serve customers, IVR will be enhanced (IVR: interactive voice response), social media engines will be enhanced, production chains will be further automated, equipment will be serviced via artificial intelligence systems (instead of maintenance engineers and facility managers), storage will be JIT (just-in-time), and logistics will be automated with artificial intelligence (Amazon is already 100% compliant with this). SO WITHIN TEN YEARS, MORE HUMAN INTERACTIONS WILL BE REDUCED.

But that may also SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE revenue… because, humans largely thrive on CONNECTIONS and EMOTIONS.

What will happen is that THERE WILL BE INCREASED LOSS OF HUMAN FEELINGS and INTENSITY OF AGGRESSION due to increased machine interactions. The automatic implication shall be INCREASED MENTAL HEALTH THREATS and INCREASED MEDICAL PROBLEMS FOR WORKERS.

Now, see the plot twist: a business that maintains a ratio of MORE HUMAN WORKERS to TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS (especially at the value chains junctions where human contact is an advantage), such a business will MAKE TONS OF MONEY. Because human beings will DRIFT TO THAT BUSINESS MORE THAN OTHERS.

Don’t take my words for it. Let’s study the trends but this is my counsel:

  1. Automate the processes that are efficiency dependent and where human interactions are unnecessary. This is for EFFICIENCY AND REDUCED TURN AROUND TIME.
  2. Maintain and increase human hirings at each point where human contact is an advantage. This is for HUMAN CONNECTIONS AND EXPERIENCES.
  3. Adopt a thorough LOVE culture such that every human in your business is a true customer lover. This is the bait and the honey. Because a business that increases her love meter will always win.
