LEAVE THOSE WHATSAPP GROUPS

Reno Omokri, the former social media aide to President GEJ, said “The Worst WhatsApp/Telegram Group to belong to is your secondary school alumni group.”

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmn.

For me, it is 50/50… so I will rephrase it this way: any WhatsApp group that is not adding to your emotional, mental, social, spiritual or financial development, is wasting your time.

I wholly believe in this.

This is because time and seasons are of great essence as we grow. There is this illusion that we always have the time.. but it is not true. Many people attain their live’s goals very early in life; some not so early but within time but some flounder through life and become liabilities to others.

The responsibility of everyone is to grow sufficiently enough to build other people… and one of the cardinal indicators of growth is that you are expanding beyond your immediate circles. Yes, your immediate circle is too small to make your life count. So here are some circles you should aspire to join:

1. An OBJECTIVE SPIRITUAL group. Not a group where magic or dramatic drama is the norm. But a group that debates and directs without hate or envy or blackmailing anyone into someone’s vices. Not a spiritual group that destroys the reputation of other faiths or individuals. A group that points you to God, guided by the Holy Scripture of their faith.
2. A TRANSPARENT FINANCIAL GROUP… you need a group where they discuss opportunities and knowledge about how to break out of poverty and grow wealth. Not every time “where una dey see this money?” You sef, show someone the way.
3. A DEEP EMOTIONAL/MENTAL DEVELOPMENT GROUP… you need this because the world has become a mad place. If you don’t protect your mental health, you are days away from being out of sync and down towards a mental breakdown.
4. A FUN/PLEASURE SOCIAL GROUP… there’s a group I joined sometime ago, which closed up at some point because it was a temporary group; the group was for hiking, vacationing and attending resorts. It was from this group that I knew a lot of fun, exotic and wild spots in Abuja. I am not the usual extroverted social bird but it afforded me some fun and excitements. This kind of group is cool to unwind and recalibrate.
5. A CLASSY BUSINESS GROUP… if you are not making money EVERY DAY or EVERY OTHER DAY, I should really BEAT you. Are you not mad like this? 😁 … but for real, whether you are an employee or a business owner, joining a business community is of immense benefit because it expands your mind of possibilities and big turnovers. I tell you.

Now, some of these groups may require payment to join; some are automatic via a course attended; some are free to join, etc. Whatever it takes, find a suitable one and belong there.

Oya, leave those ‘dead’ WhatsApp groups now; even mine, if they are not serving your purposes. I said so.
