NICE PEOPLE DO NOT MAKE GREAT CEOS.

Nice people are obsessed about protecting the emotions of their teams and business partners. They are afraid of being on the ‘wrong’ side.

Nice people would rather be ‘loved’ and ‘understood’ than be right, firm and stern.

Nice people lose a lot of money and time because they try to out-give both. They do not know how to draw boundaries and set their foot on the ground.

THIS WAS ME UP UNTIL 2015.

Being nice is an illusion. Being KIND is most essential. A great CEO is someone who knows that inspiring human emotions is critical to getting people to deliver on their jobs. Therefore, these CEOs go out of their way to show kindness to their staff, partners, customers and stakeholders. HOWEVER, this same CEO knows that when a business process is broken or disregarded by the same people he or she has been kind to, SUCH A PERSON MUST BE PENALIZED OR DISCIPLINED OR REMOVED.

Being nice will send your business into extinction and we will refer to you as ‘FORMER OWNER’ or ‘EX CEO’. Being kind makes your business BLOSSOM. Because people will go out of their way to make sure your business succeeds.

As you enter 2021, STOP BEING NICE. Rather, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE FIRM and BE KIND.
