PEOPLE ARE DRAWN TO SEEK HELP WHEN THEY ARE READY.

I was chatting Elder Idenyi and he made a point about some consultants or coaches who haven’t learnt how to charge fees. My response to him was quite straightforward: “when their fingers are burnt or when the hunger has done enough, they will learn.”

I HAVE A NEW BELIEF!!!

I believe that we, Life Coaches and Counsellors, sometimes think people need the help they don’t even know they need. I believe that many times, we are trying to ‘force’ people to learn or become what they are not ready to learn or become.

For example, last week I had a call conversation with another friend who was trying to help another person. Evidently, the recipient was not showing willingness to accept help. My friend was distraught that she wasn’t. And I told her “sometimes, people are drawn to what they are ready for.”

It seems to me that until people are really ready, we are just wasting their time, and ours, trying to ‘fix’ them.

Do you remember: WHEN THE STUDENT IS READY, THE TEACHER WILL APPEAR!!! ???

That is it.

So dear Coach, Consultant, or Mentor, let us restrategize our methods please…

1. STOP TRYING TO FIX ANYONE. Let us stop CREATING the problems they don’t have. Until they see it as a problem, it is not.
2. START SHARING YOUR WINS. I attract people because I am vulnerable. I discovered that people ‘suddenly’ see their problems because mine is shared. Maybe when you share your wins, they can approach you with their problems. I said ‘maybe’ o. 😂
3. Everything is a process of time. Hmmmmmmn. In 2012, I did not know how to charge a fee. I charged based on my needs and family hunger. My daughters lost a whole term because Funke and I couldn’t afford the fees. It is 2022 and we are able to pay 7 figures school fees annually. What changed?

A. I accepted that I needed to make more money to give my family the best of life I could afford.

B. I built capacity. I have invested so much money building my mind and networth in the past 10 years. Now, it is yielding. IT IS WORKING. Invest in yourself.

C. I stopped depending on my smartness. I am smart, cerebral and very amiable. I know BUT GUESS WHAT!!! I stopped depending on that. I depended on what I call THE GUT! I should call it ‘The Holy Spirit’ actually. Because, there are decisions I have made over the last 5 years that even I cannot explain. KNOW YOUR GUT. KNOW YOUR LEADING. AND FOLLOW IT!!!

Let me stop here… before I start saying what you don’t need or want. 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣
