WHAT I ORDERED vs WHAT I GOT.

In 2015 a ‘big girl’ in a StanbicIBTC Bank Lagos wanted to hire me as her coach. She had made concerted efforts to get my attention but because I am based in Abuja, we really did not get a convenient arrangement. At some point, I visited Lagos. As at that time, I had not met Stella (our now COO) and Tunde (our last Director of Programmes). So, I was literally alone working with someone else. SOBCA had not been founded at that time. So, this big girl asked for us to meet. She drove from Ajah to Bode Thomas Surulere to meet me where I was perching in one make-shift office entertaining clients and visitors. Make I no lie, that time ehn, the money never settle at all.

On the day she was to see me, I was in high spirits. I did not know whom I was expecting. We had not seen physically before. So, there were a lot of expectations. I waited. As I stood in front of the building waiting for her, a black Range Rover jeep approached. Chai! My heart was palpitating ‘gbi gbi; gbi gbi’. I switched on my best smile. I told myself ‘let’s do this!’ 😁

Omo, Na so the Babe park o. She alighted from her badass jeep and from a single look on her face, you could tell she was ABSOLUTELY PISSED. 😭… she did not say anything o. But I did not need any prophet to tell me she would have loved to BEAT ME FOR WASTING HER TIME.

I WAS NOT HER COACHING SPEC BY APPEARANCE AND STANDARDS!!! Oluwa o!!!

Well, she entered her car and left. As you read this message, 6 years after, she has still not replied my messages, emails or picked my calls.

WHAT SHE ORDERED IS NOT WHAT SHE GOT!!! 😢
