HOW TO WRITE CONTENT THAT WILL BRING GREAT RETURNS.

Content is King. Any day, any time. If you are not producing content to the market place as someone running a business, you are invariably not making inroads into generating revenue; so I want to help you with tips on how to write content for the market you are serving.

  1. Corporate Proposal: if your target market is only corporates, like government parastatals, banks, private sector firms, etc.. you must literally churn out massive numbers of proposals. It is said that our BEST conversion is 20% of the efforts made. So it means if you want to convert 5 firms, you must INTENSELY write 25 firms and do a thorough follow-up to get 5. Your proposal should articulate a PROBLEM/GAP, and what you want to do to ADDRESS it, REDUCE it or ELIMINATE it.
  2. Social Space: there are 3 ways I recommend your content for social spaces like social media, public speaking gigs, etc. They are as follows:

A. Tell Stories: pick any fancy experience, flair, gist, or narrative.. talk about it. In fact, be vulnerable with your own experiences, and get the reader hooked on your thoughts then deliver a pitch.

B. Share Educational Content: this post you are reading is an educational content. It’s not my usual gist format. Tell instructive information for educating your audience. We call it customer development strategy (CDS) in BSG. It increases your subject matter authority.

C. Advocate for social reform(s): a great way to write content is to pick on a social malaise and use it as a vehicle to drive home your pitch. This morning I gave a talk how SOBCA can be in charge of the psychological reform of the Nigerian Police/SARS/SWAT. What this does is that you are drawing attention to your competences, services or products while contributing to societal rehabilitation.

Whatever you do, learn to communicate with your target audience. That’s where your wealth is. Do it.
