MY BARBER MAY LOSE OVER 50% OF HIS CUSTOMERS THIS WEEK.

I cut my hair weekly. There is only one place that I do so, unless I am out of Abuja the week I desire to. I have used the same barber shop for 6 years now. And I love their routines. Beautiful, smooth, and friendly. But they may lose me and more than 50% of my ‘fellow customers’ this week.

Why?

So around February this year, I noticed that a building within their premises was being demolished. It looked like a minor renovation. I did not pay much attention to it. After that haircut, I went on a 6-week hiatus due to ‘jail’ and only had my next haircut on April 1st. To my surprise, it was not a minor renovation that was going on. It was a total takeover. The entire premises is being taken over by probably a new owner or lessee.

Implication?

My Barber needs to RELOCATE his shop to a new place ASAP.

How is that my problem now?

The problem is that my Barber, all these 6 years, NEVER ASKED FOR CUSTOMER DETAILS. They do not have my Name, Phone Number or Email Address.

So you mean all that traffic of people who come to cut hair, have a feet massage, body massage, etc… no one was captured!!!

No business must operate like this. None!!! The MINIMAL ACTIVITY you must be known for is COLLECTING DATA OF ANYONE WHO COMES CLOSE TO YOUR HUSTLE. They don’t even need to buy from you. Even if they only stare at you, ask for contact details. If they smile at you, ask. If they laugh with you, ask. And if they buy, don’t just ask; ENGAGE THEM!!!
