HANDLING CLIENT FATIGUE.

Client Fatigue is when you are tired from the burdens and behaviours of clients. It is usually built up over time when you have interacted with clients personally over a period.

This happens with customer service teams, coaches, therapists, etc.

Clients can be a great sport. Some are unbearable; some are needing micromanagement; some are not grateful; and some look for ways to extend your emotions by just being difficult.

Client Fatigue builds resentment and anger when the coach, therapist or customer service person does not take breaks to refresh their vigour.

Don’t let Client Fatigue happen to you too often, even though it’s almost impossible to eliminate that.

Do these:

  1. Be driven by your core values, vision and life mission. This serves as a wall and defense that re-inspires you.
  2. Use re-scheduling tactics or delegation: find creative ways to postpone contact or move appointments forward so that there is distance between each point of contact. Also, if possible, let another professional handle such clients on your behalf. PROTECT YOUR MENTAL HEALTH.
  3. When a client is becoming more pain than peace, politely stop serving the customer. Yes! Learn to blacklist a customer and stop every access to service. Let them keep their money so you can preserve your peace.
